DCP began in 2001 when Alex Fattal started teaching photography to thirty children in the far outskirts of Bogotá who were being educated informally by the community run school, Corporación Social Fé y Esperanza.
DCP became a Colombian non-profit organization
From its inception DCP has a maintained a strong partnership with The AjA Project, a media-arts NGO specializing in photography for refugee youth.
Today DCP continues to work with Fé y Esperanza teaching photography and other visual arts in the neighborhood where
the project began, Los Altos de Cazucá. DCP in Cazucá aspires to creatively enrich and materially improve the lives of the residents of this neighborhood, which contains the highest density of internally displaced people in Colombia.
